our software calculated the relative proportions of different colors seen in photos taken in each month of the year, and plotted them on a wheel. Summer is at the top, with time proceeding clockwise.

A book I worked on in 2007 which recently popped up on the frontpage of ffffound.com - would love and invite if anyone has one :o)
Really loved the design of this, it was a real accomplishment for our designers, although not everyone liked it's minimalist grey charm.
